Power UP: It’s a Mother Daughter Thing!

In October 2015, Central Six Development Council Alabama Workforce Council Region 4, Girls Inc. of Central Alabama, Robins & Morton and AIDT/AWTC formed a collaborative partnership to present “Power UP: It’s a Mother Daughter Thing!” The first year was a tremendous success with over 300 attendees, employer partners and training providers. Our second annual event promises to educate, engage and encourage more mothers and daughters to explore career opportunities in the construction industry.

LOCATION

The second annual “Power UP: It’s a Mother Daughter Thing!” will be on March 21, 2017 from 5:30-8:30pm at the AIDT/Alabama Workforce Training Center (located at 3500 6th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35222).

ABOUT US

The partners that form this collaborative have come together to help address the participation of women in construction and recognize that educating young talent, creating partnerships at all levels and removing barriers are pertinent factors in developing a diversified and stronger construction industry workforce.

We are excited about this event and hope that you will consider attending. For more information please feel free to contact Antiqua Cleggett of Central Six Development Council by email at acleggett@centralsix.org.
