Careers in Construction Month (CICM) is a nationwide campaign held every October to increase public awareness of construction careers, inspire the next generation of craft professionals and showcase the positive impact a fulfilling career in construction can have on individuals and communities.

Every year, U.S. citizens are encouraged to submit a request to their state government to officially proclaim October as Careers in Construction Month and help raise awareness about the opportunities in the construction industry in their state.
Any state resident can submit a proclamation request, including students! Individuals or groups who help to get CICM proclaimed in their state can submit their documentation to be entered into a Build Your Future prize drawing.
Thinking about filing a proclamation this year? Find the steps below:
1. Look up your state on the Proclamation Guide to find your governor’s website and proclamation information. Use our sample Where-As statements to help fill out the proclamation request.
2. Let us know when you file your proclamation by emailing us at proclaim@nccer.org, and we’ll mark your state on our map. Be sure to tell us your name, filing organization and state.
