Underground construction workers earn an annual mean salary of $53,730, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That equates to $25.83/hour.

These numbers do not include overtime, per diem or other incentives that can increase earnings and benefits.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the highest 10% of underground workers earned more than $78,690 annually.
