Careers in Construction Month (CICM) is a nationwide campaign held every October to increase public awareness of construction careers, inspire the next generation of craft professionals and make an impact on the perceptions of a career in construction.
Whether you are an instructor, small business owner or the CEO of a corporation, you can help spread the message. With so many resources to promote construction, there’s a way for everyone to participate!
Together, we can spread the word about the wide range of successful and lucrative construction career paths while promoting positive perceptions of construction. Our goal is to encourage both industry representatives and educators to create meaningful connections.
By signing the pledge and participating in at least one classroom engagement, whether virtual or in-person, you will be entered into a drawing for one of four $5,000 scholarships to be given to the secondary craft training program of your choice. Eligibility requirements apply.

Each year, proclamations – official documents issued by the governor to commemorate a specific time period for raising awareness about an issue – are filed across the nation proclaiming October as Careers in Construction Month.
Filing a proclamation is easy. Follow these steps:
1. Look up your state on the guide to find your governor’s website and proclamation information. Use our sample “Where-As” statements to help fill out the proclamation request.
2. Let us know when you file your proclamation by emailing us at email@example.com, and we’ll mark your state on our map. Be sure to tell us your name, filing organization and state.
3. Send us a photo of your official proclamation document to be entered into a drawing to win one of three $300 gift cards.
